Ummmmmmm...

This game is great. But I have one complaint. Blue and Black are nice colors, but depending on your monitor settings, and especially if you have a flatscreen, black is sometimes RIDICULOUSLY hard to see. Maybe change his color to red or something?

Otherwise good gameplay... though I will state that these graphics are actually pre-8 bit era. It's more like the 2-bit/4-bit era, back in the days of Atari. If only they had these programming skills back then... this could have been a great game.

I-smel responds:

Yeah, I only had so much space for a description and "8bit" has less letters in it than "over-pixelated graphics". I know it's not 8bit but it gets the point across.

I don't know what kind of monitor you have but that's the first time I've heard a complaint like that.

hmmm

I liked the streamlined graphics and such... my problems are with glitches in the gameplay itself, though. Apparently my space bar didn't work at all in the race, leaving me to come in second place... but after the race, my health bar just started to "refill" endlessly, leaving me not knowing how much energy I had left. I ended up dying and it looked like I had a full energy bar.

I hit an "invisible" sawblade, too. It was visible, but there was no warning. This happened several times after the race.

It could be a great game, maxing out at an 8 for me. Not the best in the world, but fun. But these glitches are screwing it up for me. Sorry.

Maxwelldoggums responds:

sorry, there are problems... I've fixed most of them, but NG won't let me update it because I already have so many times... The sawblades don't come up at the exact end of the race, and the warning signs work now, and the health bar refilling... I think I've fixed that (it doesn't happen very often so it's hard to test) and as for the space bar... you have to mash it up and down, but if you do it too fast... flash freaks out and won't register the hit.

Sorry about the glitches, and thanks for notifying me... I'll work on those.

Ok...

I believe that the programming needs some work. The computer NEVER falls for a bluff, so it knows your cards, which isn't fair. Also, it seems that no matter what hand you have, unless it's a flush or higher, the computer manages to get a hand better than yours. I remember having two aces in my hand, I did a steady increase in raises, and saw a third ace in the flop. Then suddenly there's three two's, and the computer bets all in? Since when does a computer player bet on a 2-3 hand? That needs some work. It's like the computer bluff more than the player does. Anyway, it's a good idea, just needs some work.

Youdagames responds:

Some of the cpu players bluff but you have to remember that in the beginning they are really bad so they play many many many hands.
If you know that to be true adjust your playing style to that.
Meaning only join the hand with a monster pair in hand.
Bluffs do work because i play a lot myself and i manage the get a way with a bluff many times. But never bluff a death hand thats my advice!
Allways bluff on a hand that can still grow into the nuts. ( nuts = the best hand )
Or at least something that beats your opponents.
Anotherthing more often than not the CPU has something when it bets strong.
Remember all that and you should be fine!

That's brilliant. Really. lol

Well... here's the deal..

I'm a decent fan of Megaman, and one thing I've HATED SINCE THE BEGINNING, is Megaman's slow movement... and you had the chance to make it a true ACTION game, and instead chose to go the normal route.

The polarity thing annoyed me in the first game, as the whole thing of Megaman was stealing your enemies' weapons and using them against them... but at least you came up with something of a puzzle to fix the fact that you didn't go that route.

I would just like some real action in the movements instead of being so slow... and I wished that you had done something spectacular with Zero... I had though you had come up with a truly original storyline there, having him turn and us trying to figure out why... instead? April Fool!

And personally I really disliked that, so that lowered the score even more. Sorry.

Frankenroc responds:

You were honest and provided CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, that's a lot more than some people who just give me low marks and I respect that. One thing I noticed is that the movement seemed a lot faster when running it as a standalone Flash then on the web, so I'll take a look at correcting that.

As far as Zero is concerned, I'm sorry you didn't care for the April Fool's joke. But like I said, I appreciate the specificity of why you didn't care for this very much.

Pretty damn good...

I liked the game play and having to switch the polarities of Megaman to get through the game (though I think there should be more usage, as so far all I saw it do was make you imprevius to the same color bullets... and although that was useful against Bass [Forte, dammit, use his real name], not really much so throughout the rest of the game...) I really think that Megaman has a better feel when there's a level select and weapons though. I liked the idea, but I'd rather see it with a different character that didn't have a definitive feel about him. Maybe if you changed his colors when you changed polarity... But nonetheless, the game is pretty sweet. I have yet to figure out what the hell the Ranking system is based on... probably speed... and in that case I think it's a stupid rank system. It should be based on a ratio of how many enemies you've killed, speed, and how many times you got hit. Maybe an average of some sort. All I got was the Livestrong one. And Lance Armstrong would be proud... I think. Though in all reality, no one would have noticed really. :) I think the rubber bracelets are stupid though. :) So cute joke. Pz.

Frankenroc responds:

He's called Bass in every USA incarnation of the MM games, so that's what I used here.

The ranking system is NOT based on speed. I'm going to administer some changes to it for the next update.

As far as the rest, I know that it's not really Megaman without his trademark level and weapon select, but I'm glad you enjoyed it just the same.

Ok...

I liked it, but I didn't understand why it had to be an Orc going to the gate for your timer. The voice was VERY annoying. I'd rather it just be a timer on the side somewhere... also the music was too much of a dead loop... maybe choice in music for the next try. I'll agree with the guy below me that said you should make it only the one you used to disappear. But yeah... it's not a bad game... just the details of it that became annoying and tedious.

earl223 responds:

I had to think of a different concept for the timer because I didn't want other NG users to say that i didn't have originality or stuff like that. Anyways, GateGears is actually having you turn enough (gate)gears to close the castle gates to prevent the orc from entering the castle. I think an orc is a good reason why anyone would want to close the gates. As for the voice, yeah real sorry about that. I guess you can't please everyone... =)

This game actually pissed me off.

The weird alien things are very annoying... they jump at you and attack you for like a ridiculous amount of hitpoints but you can't shoot them unless you're standing on something and shoot down at them. Shooting directly is an impossiblity.

Other than that, it's ok. The graphics are ok. Not the greatest, but they're decent. As for the actual control, it's a little tought to get used to, as most games have jump on S, but shoot is on A not D. That threw me off a lot and got me killed a few times. :(

Overall, this was just an average game. I believe you can do better, keep at it. :)

Glaiel-Gamer responds:

I spent a while picking the controls and getting them to work well with the jet boots.

Try to jump and shoot down.

lol

This was horrible. The game blew, but since every black thing you got made the background change it became a "Need" to finish it and see what the whole fuss was about.

I'd say that it was addicting, but there was an end. I unsterstand you can't make it endless because you'd completely run out of ideas, but if there was a way to do that it'd be hilarious. And of course, the very very small "yay." was a great touch, too. :)

oldryan responds:

Thanks! I like it too :)

Ehhhh...

I really liked the Coca-Cola song in the background... way to make subliminal messages.

Anyway... the screen was WAY TOO CRAMPED. The idea was there, but... yeah.

SwitchBladeClock responds:

ya, i figured it was a little cramped also, i gotta found out how to make it so all the items you dont use you can get rid of, glad you liked it
