hmmm

I liked the streamlined graphics and such... my problems are with glitches in the gameplay itself, though. Apparently my space bar didn't work at all in the race, leaving me to come in second place... but after the race, my health bar just started to "refill" endlessly, leaving me not knowing how much energy I had left. I ended up dying and it looked like I had a full energy bar.

I hit an "invisible" sawblade, too. It was visible, but there was no warning. This happened several times after the race.

It could be a great game, maxing out at an 8 for me. Not the best in the world, but fun. But these glitches are screwing it up for me. Sorry.

Maxwelldoggums responds:

sorry, there are problems... I've fixed most of them, but NG won't let me update it because I already have so many times... The sawblades don't come up at the exact end of the race, and the warning signs work now, and the health bar refilling... I think I've fixed that (it doesn't happen very often so it's hard to test) and as for the space bar... you have to mash it up and down, but if you do it too fast... flash freaks out and won't register the hit.

Sorry about the glitches, and thanks for notifying me... I'll work on those.

Hmmm...

The game has its charm. I don't agree that it's one of the best, but it's because it's a demo. I wish you had come up with your own character, though, as Tails wasn't ever a really a character most Sonic fans ever took too seriously. I don't hate the game or the character, I just wish that it was more original. Good luck getting to work out, it reminds me a little of the special levels in Sonic 2, mixed with Sonic Rush... not bad. But not the best. Keep working at it.

Ok...

I believe that the programming needs some work. The computer NEVER falls for a bluff, so it knows your cards, which isn't fair. Also, it seems that no matter what hand you have, unless it's a flush or higher, the computer manages to get a hand better than yours. I remember having two aces in my hand, I did a steady increase in raises, and saw a third ace in the flop. Then suddenly there's three two's, and the computer bets all in? Since when does a computer player bet on a 2-3 hand? That needs some work. It's like the computer bluff more than the player does. Anyway, it's a good idea, just needs some work.

Youdagames responds:

Some of the cpu players bluff but you have to remember that in the beginning they are really bad so they play many many many hands.
If you know that to be true adjust your playing style to that.
Meaning only join the hand with a monster pair in hand.
Bluffs do work because i play a lot myself and i manage the get a way with a bluff many times. But never bluff a death hand thats my advice!
Allways bluff on a hand that can still grow into the nuts. ( nuts = the best hand )
Or at least something that beats your opponents.
Anotherthing more often than not the CPU has something when it bets strong.
Remember all that and you should be fine!

hmmmm...

I haven't written a review in a while... but this gets one. I'm not sure why this is front page material. The game is RIDICULOUSLY SLOW. And there is talk about an "array of deadly power-ups" but I've only seen one called "Magnatron" and so far, I can't figure out, for the life of me, how to use it. I'm sorry, but this gets a four... it's functional, and that's it.

Speed it up. Add cooler weapons. And don't make the main characters so "cute" from now on.

Really nice.

Ok... so I got three of the "indie" characters, and I'm wondering if there's more (I don't want to ruin them for the people who didn't get them yet). Two are really easy to make, but hard to realize unless you REALLY are into the indie games.

I'll give a hint, one had a game that made it out onto PS2, and was remade for the 360... Another was just recently released for 360... and the last is just hard to remember, even though the game was really awesome.

Anyway...if those are the only three, then it would have been cool to make two packs, one for beating the game normally, then another for beating it along with the new "indy" pack, and then unlock maybe some outfits for some Newgrounds exclusives... like Me from Dad N' Me, Pico, a Tankman... or more outfits for more obscure characters like Bubsy, Vectorman, Boogerman, John Madden (just for a laugh)... or how about other well known characters that were somehow forgotten this time around, like Scorpion, Raiden, Frank West (Dead Rising), Altair (Assassin's Creed)...

Or maybe characters from games made from popular things? Like Goku, Superman, Batman, Naruto, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Harvey Birdman...

Anyway, the timed mode was wonderful. The only things that took from my scoring, AND I hated, was the fact that sometimes things started off outside of the box, or just grazing the edge so I couldn't grab it (most common here was Gordon's glasses, Pikachu's face pieces, and Kratos' goatee)... and the fact that some pieces seemed like they could fit two characters, but obviously didn't (like Snake's facial hair could have also fit Gordon Freeman if you didn't figure it out...)

In the end, though.... this was a solid mini-game, and it was fun. Good work. I'm giving a 9/10, though in reality it'd be an 8.5/10... so you gain the betterment of rounding up.

Could be better...

A glitch at the very end screwed it all up for me... for some reason after I get the gem, I go to the first floor and am immediately arrested... then I press "Try Again" and am IMMEDIATELY arrested upon restart, and I can't move from there.

There are no lasers in the way, nor cameras or security guards... WTF?

I HATE the ultra-slow speed...

Collision detection is disgusting, the sound effects are horrid... wow, there's a lot to hate about this game.

So let's look at the good points. The music is ok, as are the graphics and animation. Good work there, but really you have to to fix the collision and speed... I hated jumping, "hitting" a ceiling, and then falling back to where I was a minute and a half ago... and then have to go in super slow motion to get to it again. That made me sad.

Just like that other guy... 98%

I saw an ad, then a preloader that got me to 98%, I waited a few minutes, then reset the page and tried again. 98% again. After two more tries, thinking that it may just be my connection, I gave up. I can't rate something I can't play... sorry bud.

Fix that, and you won't get anymore bad grades from people such as myself... but as for me, I'm sorry but I don't know how a half broken game made it to the front page.

Nice game.

I HATE the whole geometry wars look to it... basically it just hurts my eyes. But the gameplay and music syncing made up for it. Good work man. Good work.

Atari graphics, NES gameplay...

Good game. Loved the retro feel to it. Even though the game itself was more complicated than the look. Good game, again. Do more. :)

I am the terror that flaps in the night. I am the dog that licks the water from your toilet bowl! I AM DARKWING... erm... I am Jaeboy.
